THE CLERGY
REV. FR. DOMINGO M. SALONGA
Parish Priest
REV. FR. JOSEPH FRANZ T. DIZON
Parochial Vicar
The clergy holds a central position in the religious and spiritual life of a community, particularly within the Roman Catholic Church. They are individuals who have received ordination and hold positions of authority within the church's hierarchy. Their primary duty is to lead, guide, and serve the faithful by performing sacred rituals, administering religious rites, and providing spiritual counsel.
Within the parish, there are two significant roles carried out by the clergy: the rector and the parochial vicar. These two priests are entrusted with various responsibilities to address the spiritual, liturgical, psychological, and religious needs of the parishioners.
Rector: The rector serves as the highest governing authority in the parish. Their role involves overseeing the overall direction and management of the parish. As the chairman of the Parish Pastoral Council, the rector provides leadership in guiding the pastoral activities of the parish, ensuring that its objectives and initiatives align with the teachings of the Church. Additionally, the rector plays a vital role in administering the sacraments and delivering sermons to the parishioners.
Parochial Vicar: The parochial vicar functions as an assistant to the rector. They collaborate with the rector to fulfill the parish's responsibilities, particularly in situations where the rector may be unable to do so. The parochial vicar also takes on the role of caring for the parish, ensuring that the community's spiritual and pastoral needs are met.
Currently, the clergy serving in this parish include Rev. Fr. Domingo M. Salonga, who serves as the parish priest and rector of the church. His role encompasses overseeing the parish's overall direction and management, as well as leading its pastoral activities. Rev. Fr. Joseph Franz T. Dizon serves as the parochial vicar, assisting the rector and ensuring the smooth operation of the parish's spiritual and pastoral activities.
